David Babcock & Associates was established in 1998. Since then, DBA’s portfolio has grown to include a diverse body
of work including land planning, landscape architecture, and interior architecture, with projects primarily located in the
Northern California region. The firm’s success is derived from the combination of a creative design team and the firm’s
ability to maintain strong leadership and relationships with clients throughout all phases of the design and construction
processes. DBA takes a hands on approach with each project by directing the project strategy, providing creative
design concepts, and drawing upon sub-consultant resources to assemble a project team capable of meeting the
project objectives, while also satisfying the constraints of budgets and deadlines.
David has directed the design and overseen a number of large planning projects, including: Cordes Ranch in Tracy,
California; Hacienda Crossings in Dublin, California; Pleasanton Park, Pleasanton, California and various Northern
California Costco Wholesale retail facilities.
David is a licensed Architect and Landscape Architect with over 37 years of design and construction experience
including land planning, site planning, landscape design, building design and interior space planning. In addition, he
has provided project coordination for land owners, contractors, developers, property managers and has extensive
experience with government agency entitlements and approvals.
Prior to forming David Babcock & Associates, David was a Senior Associate in the San Francisco Architectural firm
SGPA. He directed the entitlement approval, project management and construction administration for such projects
as: Hacienda Crossings Entertainment/Retail Center in Dublin, California; and Stanford Ranch Crossing retail center in
David also worked as a Senior Project Manager for Interform in San Ramon, California, an interior space planning firm
specializing in commercial interiors. Projects completed under his direction included: the Fremont Office Center for
Paragon Group (360,000 square feet), Fremont, California; Pleasanton, California; and Transdyn Controls (40,000
square feet), Pleasanton, California.
David also spent 10 years with Reynolds & Brown Development in Concord, CA, where he was a Project Manager for:
the Airport Center retail project (Sam’s and Sportmart) in Concord, California; Marina Square Shopping Center
(Nordstrom Rack) in San Leandro, California; Waterman Village (Safeway), a neighborhood retail center in Fairfield,
California; and Pleasanton Park Business Center in Pleasanton, California.
